Piqué Sellier or Stitched Saddlemaker, a design created for Hermès by Parisian artist and illustrator, Cyrille Diatkine, and issued by Hermès as part of its 2009 fall-winter collection in the petit 70cm size on fabulous Hermès woven vintage silk. Diatkine has worked with Hermès since 2006, creating numerous, unique designs for Hermès carrés, jewelry, watches, and ceramics. His Piqué Sellier design is inspired by and pays homage to Maison de Hermès' heritage as a maker and seller of exquisite saddles and harnesses for the nobility and wealthy of France and Europe by depicting La Maison de Hermès located at 24 Rue du Faubourg, Saint-Honoré, Paris, rendered as a finely stitched design on perhaps a exquisite piece of Hermès leather. This design has a lettered title (see. photo 5), but is not signed by the artist.
The colorway is comprised of a rich brown background with design details rendered in silver, pink, crimson, black, dark violet, and royal purple. The hem/edging is in contrasting dark violet.
