Details
  • Authentic Hermès 100% silk scarf, Les Lévriers or The Greyhounds, designed by the renowned French animal artist, Xavier de Poret, whose designs of birds, cats, deer, squirrels, foxes, greyhounds and other canines have become beloved, highly sought after and collected the world over. This design, being his artistic study of the greyhound in various poses, is no exception. The design was first issued by Hermès in 1957 and reissued as part of its 2002 fall - winter collection This carré’s copyright symbol and attached fabric/care/label and colorway date it as a 2002 issue. This design does not have a lettered title, but is signed by the artist (see, photos 7 and 9).

The colorway is comprised of a cherry blossom pink and sienna border surrounding a pink background with design details rendered in white, chestnut plus light silver accents.

This 18 year old scarf is in 10 out of 10, new, unused collector's condition (see condition scale below for reference). The silk is still boutique fresh and crisp with a smooth hand. There are no stains, spots, discolorations, holes, thread snags or thread runs. The hems are intact round and plump, and the fabric/care/origin label is attached. This scarf was not a boutique "final sale" item. This scarf measures 35.5" x 35" (90m x 88.9cm). This scarf comes in its original Herme̒s gift box with it bolduc box tie.

Xavier de Perot Hermès designs are hard to find, especially in the mint, unused condition this specimen presents . This particular beloved and charming design is becoming rarer and more collectible each year, making it a Herme̒s to own to wear, show or collect. A scarf design for lovers of both dogs and haute couture . Make it yours, and help the greyhounds.
