"1789 Liberte Egalite Fraternite” or "1789 Liberty Equality Fraternity" is a 1989 original issue from Hermès artist Joachim Metz. The bold colors of navy, turquoise, violet blue, crimson, burnished golds, jasmine yellow, light pinks and touches of pistachio greens create a glorious depiction of the symbols and the motto of the French Revolution. This design, commemorating the 200 year anniversary of the establishment of the French Republic, has never been reissued, making it rare and a Hermès collector's favorite.
