  • "1789 Liberte Egalite Fraternite” or "1789 Liberty Equality Fraternity" is a 1989 original issue from Hermès artist Joachim Metz. The bold colors of navy, turquoise, violet blue, crimson, burnished golds, jasmine yellow, light pinks and touches of pistachio greens create a glorious depiction of the symbols and the motto of the French Revolution. This design, commemorating the 200 year anniversary of the establishment of the French Republic, has never been reissued, making it rare and a Hermès collector's favorite.

This vintage scarf is a in a strong 8/10, excellent, near pristine condition (see our condition scale for reference). It appears to have had little use plus excellent care. The hems are intact, round, and plump. There are no stains, spots, discolorations, thread snags or thread runs. The fabric/care label is attached. There are no condition issues to declare. The scarf measures 35.25" x 34.75" (89.5cm x 88.3cm).

The colors and design of this stunning carre̒ make it perfect to wear all four seasons, and especially to all your Bastille Day parties. Make it yours. No box comes with this scarf, but be assured, it will be carefully packed and padded for shipping.
