Here we offer a rare "Tigre Royal" 65% cashmere/35% silk, 16.5"x 16.5" gavroche (or pocket) scarf. Designed in 1977 by Christiane Vauzelles, it is one of those special Hermès carrés that no matter what the occasion or the outfit, it is the perfect accessory. The design was re-issued as part of the Hermès 1991/92 autumn/winter collection, as part of the 1992 spring/summer collection, again in 2007/2008 and 2008. Based on the attached fabric/care label and colorway, this gavroche is a 1991/92 reissue of the design.
The colorway is dark navy blue, golds, black and white.
This pocket scarf is in vintage 8 excellent, lightly used condition (see our condition scale for reference). Hems are intact, tight and round, and there are no stains, spots or thread snags. The is one single, short, most discreet thread pull just left of the 'Hermès-Paris' banner (see photo 5), so discreet, it should never be noticed when the scarf is worn or shown. The fabric/care label is attached. The scarf measures approximately 17" x 16.25" (43.2cm x 41.3cm).
This is truly a Hermès carré to own, as this stunning and beloved design is becoming rare and collectible. No box comes with this scarf, but be assured we will carefully pack and pad it for damage-free shipping.
