"Les Mustangs," was designed by the great French wildlife artist and long time Hermès collaborator, Robert Dallet. His talent for recreating the realism and motion of his subjects is recognized worldwide. The design of this Hermès depicts a capture of stampeding mustangs by two mounted horsemen. This beloved design was originally issued as part of the Hermès 1993/1994 Autumn/Winter Collection, reissued in 2007 and again 2012 as a 70cm carre̒. The attached fabric/care label (photo 6) dates this carre̒ as an original 1993 issue.
The colorway is comprised of a white border surrounding an ivory background with the design rendered in sage, ecru, browns, fawn and chestnut.
This scarf is in 7+ vintage, excellent pre-owned, lightly used condition (see our condition scale for reference). There are a couple of very light, short discreet foundation makeup streaks (see photo 7) to list, otherwise the scarf is excellent. The silk is crisp and fresh with a smooth hand, the hems/edgings are intact round and plump, and the fabric/care label is attached. There are no holes, thread snags or thread runs to report. This scarf measures 35.25" x 35 (89.5cm x 88.6cm).
A truly attractive and fun Hermès to add to your wardrobe, a carre̒ to wear and show. Becoming more rare and harder to find every year. It comes in its Hermès gift box.
