"La Réale" or the "The Royal" aka "La Vue du Carrosse De La Galère La Réale" or ""The View of the Carriage of the Galley of the Royal,"" was designed by the iconic Hermès artist, Hugo Grygker, in 1953. La Réale was a galley of the French naval galley corps, and the flagship of the French galley fleet under Louis XIV. She was designed by Jean-Baptiste Chabert, and built in Marseille between 1692 and 1694. Grygker's design depicts the frontal crossview of this magnificent galley in all its splendor. This classic and popular design was reissued in 1990/1991, 1991, 1991/1992, 2004 and as recently as 2014. The colorway and the attached fabric/care label leads us to believe this scarf was issued as a part of the Hermès 1991 spring/summer collection.
The colorway is light blue, white, blue and gold, perfect for spring and summer wardrobes.
