"Carpe Diem" or "Seize the Day," a rare, beloved, highly collectible Hermès design by the artist Joachim Metz. It was first issued in 1994 and was reissued shortly later in 1994 retitled "Gloria Soli," due to a copyright dispute regarding its original tiltle. The design depicts the sun surrounded by stars in the sky beaming down on a sun dial listing the hours of the day. This early 1994 design title and issue is rated 2B (Rare and Beloved) by Carre̒s d'art II, due to its intitial popularity and limited availability prior to its retitling. As a result, this design and title is increasingly hard to find due to its continued popularity and collectibility.
